Engaging events

Life’s too short for boring meetings. We enable constructive conversations on difficult topics, using inspiring events to encourage clarity of purpose and effective problem-solving.

Our experience of designing, planning and facilitating face to face and digital events makes us uniquely placed to meet your specific purpose, whether that’s shared learning, stakeholder engagement, policymaking, problem-solving or research dissemination.

We help with the entire life cycle of an event – from creative ideas to logistics and administration, from facilitation to evaluation.

We use our understanding of how to build shared purpose, trust and psychological safety between participants to create events that fit around people, not the other way round.

Our principles

Underpinning each event are five core principles for success:

  • Clear purpose that is directly relevant to the audience – working closely with our clients to identify their priority purpose and audience.
  • Style that is engaging and inclusive – using a warm, conversational style, avoiding abstract discussions, and maximising input from a range of roles .
  • Combining different ways to learn and contribute – combining interactive digital events, surveys, pre-recorded videos, and blogs to maximise learning and insight.
  • Producing resources that will last – we create a set of outputs that can be shared and used long after the event is over.
  • Respecting participants’ time – our events deliver great outcomes in an efficient way.

Our services

We’ve delivered hundreds of face to face and digital events, working with NHS organisations, charities, universities and more. Our services include:

  • strategic advice on the best type of event to meet your objectives
  • designing, planning and executing event series
  • integration of face-to-face and digital events
  • digital content and social media support to amplify your event messages
  • creative event venues, from magic shops to historic operating theatres
  • post-event reflections, including engaging write-ups and blogs
  • evaluation of the event’s success against its objectives.

Face to face events

Our events are bespoke to the organisations we work with, but these give a flavour of the types of event we can offer:

  • Learning event series: these usually comprise a mixture of face-to-face and digital events, such as the Project Lift (now Leading To Change) community events series, which brought together hundreds of leaders across social work, social care and health in Scotland.
  • Away days: an example is an away day series for the NHS England Emergency and Elective Care Directorate, involving more than 150 participants, to help them think and discuss how to fulfil their purpose as a directorate.
  • Lunch (or breakfast) and learn events: these include our popular Fresh Conversations or our breakfast event exploring multiple long term conditions with Guy’s and St Thomas’ Charity.

Digital events

We put people at the heart of our digital events. We use a range of online tools to support collaboration and engagement.

From workshops to webinars, our digital events include:

What our clients say

“Kaleidoscope worked with us to deliver a highly important digital event to more than 1,000 people. Within a short timescale they used their expertise in digital event management and facilitation to plan and deliver a successful, high quality event.”
Oliver Dye, Senior Policy Advisor, Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs

“Kaleidoscope manages to engage with people digitally in a way few others manage to do. Always professional, warm and on point, we’ve got huge value out of working with them.”
Matthew Trainer, Chief Executive, Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust

“When the citizens’ assembly had to be moved from in-person to online sessions due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the team made sure the process went as smoothly as possible and helped us to create new online sessions that were inclusive, accessible and meaningful.”
Julien Danero Iglesias, Head of Chief Executive Office, London Borough of Camden

“Kaleidoscope supported our online staff away days and, as a result, significantly improved the outcomes of these. Not only was their calm facilitation fantastic and just what we needed in the context of the pandemic, but their creative thinking and ability to create clear agendas that meet our objectives were highly valued by our team.”
Clare Wiggins Chief of Staff, Community Services, NHS England

“The workshops Kaleidoscope ran were highly engaging and productive, ensuring we got the most value out of the limited face-to-face time we had together. We also appreciated the breadth of skills they brought creating a suite of effective communication tools.”
Liz Mear, Partner of Embedded Research Programme, National Institute for Health Research

“Kaleidoscope have been instrumental in helping the British Red Cross and Co-op Partnership drive forward the tackling loneliness agenda. Time and again, they have helped us convene voluntary, private and public sector organisations and delivered dynamic – and useful – events. Despite often focussing on complex issues their workshops have helped us arrive at authentic solutions and a tangible action plan.”
Olivia Field, Policy and Engagement Manager (Loneliness and Social Isolation), British Red Cross
