Fresh Conversations

What’s a Fresh Conversation you ask? It's a simple concept: we bring together people from across health and care to discuss interesting and important issues, challenge each other and connect.

Fresh Conversations are about mixing up different perspectives and people who may not otherwise have opportunities to meet. What matters most is the quality of conversation and the diversity of the people there.

So, whether you are a chief executive or early career, clinician or policy maker, this is a space for you to have different – and refreshing – kind of discussion.

Who are they for?

The events are free and open to anyone.

To date, we’ve held more than 75 lunches and sat down with more than 1,300 people.

We’ve covered topics as diverse as artificial intelligence and ethics, patient engagement, homelessness, and the media and its role in health and care.

Where are they?

We host some online and some face to face.  When we host the events face to face we try to find venues that can inspire people to think differently. We’ve hosted Fresh Conversations in museums, chapels and even a magic shop.

As we emerge from the pandemic our priority is that people feel safe and are able to maintain distancing.

When are they?

We host one Fresh Conversation a month, normally on a Friday.

They are lunchtime events and when they are face to face we also provide lunch.

What do people think of them?

Here’s what some of the feedback has been…

“Brilliant – great mix of people, great thoughts, insights and different perspectives.”

“Loved it. The speaker was brilliant, very well organised, great interactive discussion.”

“I particularly like the small group breakout rooms as that’s where I feel most comfortable to speak.”

“I loved the authenticity of the conversations that a platform like this creates. It allows you to stop and think and build new connections.”

These sound a lot like your Melting Pot Lunch events…?

Well spotted!

We used to call them Melting Pot Lunches, but we gave them a bit of a glow up.

You can read about why we did that.

Where to I sign up?

We have a Fresh Conversations events page listing our forthcoming dates.

You also can get information and regular updates on new events in our newsletter and on our twitter.
