Kindness in healthcare

We're supporting a community to create conversations and explore the role of kindness in healthcare.

Every month, people from around the world meet online to discuss kindness in healthcare. What started as a conversation between a few colleagues and friends has now grown into a community from more than 30 countries.

They come together for a conversation for kindness, built around stories, listening, co-production, and the chance to learn from others.

The meetings so far have included discussions on the concept of a movement for care, new ways to think about caring, and what kindness looks like in the workplace.

Find out more and watch recordings of the conversations on the Kindness in Healthcare website.

The Kindness in Healthcare movement believes that it is increasingly clear that this conversation is at the heart of the direction that health and care systems across the globe need to take. This will ensure they can better meet the needs of the things that matter most to our citizens and communities – reconnecting the work of health staff with the true purpose and mission of health and care.

At the heart of outstanding care, is kindness. Not kindness as a soft and frivolous thing, nor as a state of being that belongs only to optimists, but as actions and decisions we choose to make every single day. There is nothing more important than this, and if we get this right pretty much everything else can follow.

The Kindness in Healthcare movement was initiated by Bob Klaber, Dominique Allwood, Maureen Bisognano, Goran Henriks, Suzie Bailey, Anette Nilsson, Gabby Matthews and James Mountford.

If you would like to join the monthly conversations, please get in touch with the Kindness in Healthcare team.

As kindness sits at the heart of Kaleidoscope’s mission to build a future that is kind, connected and joyful, we are delighted to be able to support Kindness in Healthcare as part of our Inspire work.
