The Future Together Group

Applications for the Future Together Group are now closed.

We’d like to thank everyone who took the time and effort to apply. We are quite overwhelmed with the response we have had, the quality and range of applications has been phenomenal and we are really grateful.

The group members will be announced in late April/early May 2022.

What is the Future Together Group?

The Future Together Group will be a group of staff from across Homerton, who represent the diversity of our community.

Their task will be to reach out across the organisation to speak to people on the ground and find out what works, what isn’t working and how we can do things better.

In the summer, the group will produce a report that will be presented to the Homerton Healthcare Board and form an important part of our Homerton Healthcare strategy.

The Future Together Group will be made up of a small team of staff who will speak to their colleagues about the future of Homerton Healthcare, where we need to develop, and how we can do that

What will they do?

Group members will engage staff to listen to and collect feedback from across the Trust on where and how the Trust should develop, and then write a report with recommendations that will be delivered to the board in July 2022.

This work will take place over the course of 12 weeks and will require a commitment of one day a week. Group members will not be expected to do this on top of their regular job, support will be given to their service to release them for the one day each week.

What skills/qualities do the group need?

No formal qualifications are required, the team will be given support to deliver the project. We want people who are passionate about the future of Homerton and speaking to staff at all levels in all areas of the organisation. We’ll be seeking people who can actively listen to and engage with colleagues of all levels, with good communications skills.

We’ll be seeking people who represent the diversity of Homerton, who are passionate and committed to equality and inclusion, who can actively listen in a non-judgemental way, who can engage with colleagues from all levels of the organisation, communicating effectively and respectfully.

If selected to be part of the group, you will be provided training and support throughout the process.

Who was eligible to be in the group?

All staff are eligible regardless of role, level, or department. We are actively seeking a diverse group, who  reflect us as Trust.

We particularly welcome applicants who are women, those who are part of the LGBTQ+ community, disabled or differently abled staff, and those who are Black, Asian or from another ethnic background (BAE).

How were members selected?

If you are interested in being a part of the Future Together Group please complete this short application form. The application asks who you are and how you will engage and communicate with staff.

A company called Kaleidoscope are supporting with this work and will provide a shortlist of applicants to the Homerton design and delivery group for selection, the shortlist will be selected based on criteria outlined in the application form. Kaleidoscope will remove your name before providing the shortlist to a panel of Homerton’s senior staff to provide anonymity for the internal recruitment. The panel will select 8-12 people to be part of the group, ensuring there is a representative mix of roles, levels, departments, ethnicity, age, gender, race, disabled and differently abled staff, and religions or beliefs.

Unsuccessful applicants will be offered 1:1 discussion with a member of the Kaleidoscope team to get their insight about the future of the Trust. There will also be ample additional opportunities for all staff to provide their views.
