Valeria Giannuzzi

Valeria has a wealth of experience in social work, academia and social enterprise. At Kaleidoscope she spends much of her time supporting Kaleidoscopians in our personal development and wellbeing, as well as creating the best experience for all at our organisation.

For a number of years Valeria worked with migrants in refugee camps, Roma families’ camps, refuge houses for women, and unaccompanied minors. In addition to her background in community development and project management, she also has a PhD in Social Sciences with specialisation in migration studies.

She founded a charity in her native Italy to deliver accessible mental health services, and in her adopted UK home she ran a community interest company to support new parents in Barking and Dagenham.

Valeria has a fascination for group dynamics, people’s strategies and cognitive processes, a strong sense of community (particularly a beneficiary/end user’s point of view), enthusiasm and a genuine interest in learning.

Valeria’s world revolves around finding the right balance between her Italian and English self, her workaholic and mother self, and enjoying the journey as much as the destination. Her dream is to write children’s books and sing.
