Peter Thomas

Peter Thomas is part of Kaleidoscope’s Advisory Group.

Peter is a former Whitehall director and now leads the Institute for Government’s work on Civil Service Reform, working closely with senior leaders in Whitehall as they strive to make Whitehall better – not just cheaper. Peter also runs a thriving advisory business with clients at all levels of public service, in the UK and overseas.

Previously Peter was Director of Strategy and Change at the Ministry of Justice – helping them develop a strategy to transform justice whilst reducing the cost of the Ministry by 25%.

Prior to that, he was Director of the Capability Review programme in the Cabinet Office. He led the project from its inception to implementation. Other roles include Director then interim Head of the Prime Minister’s Delivery Unit.

Peter is the world’s largest fan of black sharpies and can become exceptionally irritated if any of his valuable stashes are misappropriated during events.
