Julia Simon
Julia Simon is part of our family of Associates.
Having joined the NHS as a national management trainee, Julia has spent the last 20 years in the intersection of healthcare policy, strategy and transformational change.
She is currently training as an executive leadership coach with a focus on psychodynamics and systems theory. She loves supporting teams and individuals through difficult conversations and decisions towards meaningful strategic change. She is an experienced facilitator who uses listening and co-design to help create solutions that reflect the many perspectives of participants.
Julia’s worked locally —most recently as director of strategy and partnerships at Homerton Healthcare FT in east London— as well as regionally and nationally.
Julia was head of strategy for NHS London before joining the small national team responsible for the establishment of clinical commissioning groups. She then led the development of new national commissioning policy for NHS England.
Before joining the NHS, Julia was a philosophy lecturer who studied and taught mainly post-Kantian thought in the US and Oxford, including a long-running course on perspectives on being human and the meaning of life.
Outside work, Julia is slightly addicted to cold water swimming and most days can be found swimming on Hampstead Heath. She also loves a good cooking project. Julia lives with her husband and two teens in north London, but often returns to Stockholm, where she grew up.
