Kaleidoscope wins prestigious Market Research Society award

Recognition for wide-ranging engagement with health and care staff for 10 Year Health Plan.

2 December 2025

Kaleidoscope has been recognised for its work on Change NHS, the national conversation where we listened to and spoke to more than 3,700 health and care staff from all areas of the NHS to shape the future of the NHS and the 10 Year Health Plan.

The MRS award is in the Public Policy/Social Research category – working with and listening to people and staff to inform change. We did this together with Thinks Insight and Strategy, IPPR and Jessie Cunnett.

We hosted more than 25 face-to-face deliberative events, online sessions and focus groups, hearing from a diverse set of voices from health, social care and public health staff, with representation across regions, communities, sectors, roles and paybands.

Tailored approach

We tailored our approach to support both large-scale participation and in-depth deliberation, creating opportunities for staff to engage in ways that suited them best.

More than 90% of the staff who took part felt they were genuinely and authentically listened to, which we are really proud of.

Sally Warren, Director General of Adult Social Care and Director General of the 10 Year Health Plan, Department of Health and Social Care, said of Kaleidoscope’s work:

“Kaleidoscope brought expertise, energy and insight to design and deliver a range of activities and meaningful conversations ensuring staff perspectives are genuinely shaping the Plan. Their approach resulted in a process where staff felt valued and heard.”

The judges said:

“The judges were impressed with the overall delivery of this research which ultimately improved understanding for the sector. The size and scale of the research ensured voices often unheard were included and actively considered. The work has already had an impact on government policy which will continue for years to come.”

Anne Pordes, part of Kaleidoscope, said:

“We are thrilled to receive the MRS Public Policy/Social Research award alongside our partners. It recognises our unique approach to engagement, collaboration and listening for public policy. It’s a tribute to Kaleidoscope and our collaborative partnership with organisations and staff.”
