Kaleidoscope gains new leaders, and new owners (ourselves)

Kaleidoscope moves to become employee-owned to strengthen how we work now and become more sustainable for the future.

6 August 2025

At Kaleidoscope we’re always keen to talk about the importance of culture, but we know that good relationships always need to be reinforced by good structures.

That’s why we’re pleased to announce two major changes to how Kaleidoscope is run, all designed to support and strengthen how we work now, and help us become more sustainable for the future.

Owned by staff

Kaleidoscope is now 100% owned by its staff, through a new Employee Ownership Trust.

Kscopers will be represented on the Trust by three employee trustees – Corinne Armstrong, John Conway and Rowan Collins – alongside a new external chair, Chris Sutton. Chris has extensive experience in working for and supporting purpose-driven organisations.

The governance of Kaleidoscope itself is also changing, with a board structure for the first time. Joining Rich Taunt as executive directors are George Dellal, Jess Tudor-Williams, and Clare Allcock.

Two new non-executive roles of chair and deputy chair will be filled by Louise Clarke and Andi Orlowski respectively.

As well as being a GP in West Yorkshire, Louise has held a range of NHS leadership roles. Andi is currently the Director of the Health Economics Unit alongside several advisory posts.

Importance of values

Louise says of her role at Kaleidoscope:

“I am honoured to be a part of the next step in Kaleidoscope’s journey. I’ve been a huge fan of the work of Kaleioscope for some time, and have used it to help guide and implement strategy within organisations and partnerships that I’ve worked in previously.

“Kaleidoscope is an organisation that truly lives its values, and this is important to me. I see my role as supporting the organisation and its fantastic people to hold true to those values as we evolve. I’m very excited to see what that evolution will bring for Kaleidoscope, and I’m looking forward to learning from the fantastic Kscope team.”

Supportive environment

Chris says of his role as Chair of the Employee Ownership Trust:

“I look forward to helping shape Kaleidoscope’s governance practices, ensuring that we continue to create an environment where everyone can thrive and that supports our team in supporting organisations to make meaningful change in health and care.

“This new structure reflects a strong commitment to values based governance and shared ownership, creating a fantastic framework to support Kaleidoscope’s success for the long term.”

Kindness, curiosity and collaboration

Andi says: “I’ve long loved Kaleidoscope’s way of working, an organisation that has embraced kindness, curiosity and collaboration. So being part of the next chapter, especially one grounded in employee ownership, is a real privilege.

“I’m genuinely excited to be joining the journey, working alongside brilliant Kscopers, and helping ensure Kaleidoscope stays as Kaleidoscopey as ever!”

This marks the end of Rich Taunt’s ownership of Kaleidoscope, and you can read his letter to Kscopers, present and future. Rich’s day-to-day role with us doesn’t change.

Rich says: “Owning Kaleidoscope has been a privilege and a joy. It’s also been an exercise in realising when others can bring things you absolutely cannot.

“I couldn’t be happier to welcome Louise, Chris and Andi to Kaleidoscope, and fellow Kscopers Corinne, John, Rowan, George, Jess and Clare into new roles. Our future couldn’t be in better hands.”

Chris has already started his role, with Louise and Andi to join later in the year.
