Not falling into the transformation trap

The idea of a quick and easy fix in healthcare is very tempting, but we’re more interested in finding hope in how change really happens.

At Kaleidoscope we’re fascinated by the idea and lure of ‘transformation’ in health and care. And who can blame us? The prospect of painless change to solve all our problems is attractive.

But realistically, we know it’s a myth that goes against all evidence of how change really happens.

Maintaining the promise and language of transformation is becoming a problematic trap for us all – not least those colleagues with that word in their job title!

The inevitable failure of ‘transformation’ to arrive is frustrating and results in disappointment.

And this can blind us to how change really happens and the need for a more useful and honest conversation about just that.

We explored all of this and more in our interactive digital event.
