Nuffield Trust

The Nuffield Trust is an independent health think tank aiming to improve the quality of health care in the UK by providing evidence-based research and policy analysis and informing and generating debate.

Grounded in the practical implications of policy-making and working closely with NHS staff and policy-makers to identify solutions, we aim to help achieve a high quality health and social care system that improves the health and care of people in the UK.

We set out to do this by:

  • improving the evidence base that leads to better care by undertaking rigorous applied research and policy analysis
  • using our independence to provide expert commentary, analysis and scrutiny of policy and practice
  • bringing together policy-makers, practitioners and others to develop solutions to the challenges facing the health and social care system.

Faculty of Medical Leadership and Management

The Faculty of Medical Leadership and Management (FMLM) is the UK professional home for medical leadership. The primary objective of FMLM is to raise the standard of patient care by improving medical leadership.

FMLM supports their fellows and members adhere to the FMLM Leadership and management standards for medical professionals through mentoring, access to the latest research on healthcare leadership, and many other resources.

FMLM Applied has been developed to support healthcare organisations to invest in medical leadership, enhance performance and improve clinical outcomes for patients.

MBI Health Group

MBI want to support UK health start-ups andpeople with new ideas, and we believe the NHS can benefit from a new generation of voices. Bringing together people, sharing passions and ideas is central to that.

Formed in 2012, MBI Health Group is a health advisory practice made up of practising clinicians, and experienced healthcare management specialists.

About us

Our management team has a background in the NHS Graduate Management Training scheme. We have implementation credentials alongside integrated health boards, hospitals, commissioning organisations and alongside regulators. We are based in the UK, Australia and New Zealand.

Our consulting practice specialises in three areas of intervention with our clients:

  • operations, cost performance and access: ED, cancer and elective care
  • clinical quality and transparency
  • strategy.

We have developed online MBI analytics services as open source, providing national data on ED, Cancer & RTT Waiting times.

Our free to use patient navigation tool has been operating since 2015 aimed at helping patients, relatives and GPs navigate RTT pathways and waiting times for treatment.

C3 Collaborating for Health

C3 Collaborating for Health’s vision is of a world where there are no premature or preventable deaths from chronic non-communicable diseases (NCDs) because people find it easier to live healthy lives.

Each year, 70% of deaths globally are from just four major chronic diseases – cardiovascular disease, cancers, type 2 diabetes and chronic lung disease. Some 17 million of those deaths are of the under-70s, many of working age with families to support. Despite this, NCDs are under-reported, under-acknowledged and under-funded.

Founded in 2009 in a time when healthcare was largely equated with disease and sickness, C3 Collaborating for Health has helped shift the focus to prevention and wellbeing by addressing NCDs and their risk factors before people fall sick or need care.

C3 fosters multi-sector collaboration to catalyse action in the global community, to promote three behaviour changes:

  • improving diet and avoiding harmful alcohol use
  • stopping smoking
  • increasing physical activity.

Bringing together ‘unusual suspects’ from our global network of more than 2,500  professionals in 70+ countries to encourage behaviour change for NCD prevention is at the core of C3’s work.

Our projects focus on:

  • local communities changing their environment
  • businesses changing their products, people and customers
  • health professionals, particularly nurses
  • workplace health.

These varied projects are connected by their focus on the three risk factors, and reflect our years of expertise in strategy consulting, research and writing; evaluation; content-rich events; and creation and management of influential networks, partnerships and collaborations.
